Mad Cow Sacred Cow

Winner of 2 Golden Sheaf Awards: Best of Saskatchewan Ruth Shaw Award and Best Research. Filmmaker Anand Ramayya embarks on a journey from his in-law’s family farm in Canada all the way back to India, land of the Sacred Cow. His journey reveals shocking connections between the Mad Cow crisis, Farm crisis and Global Food crisis. Weaving interviews from internationally renowned speakers, such as Dr. Vandana Shiva, Maneka Gandhi, Dr. Murray Waldman, Nettie Wiebe and Swami Agnivesh with stunning visuals, the story of Mad Cow Sacred Cow explores the frightening realities created by globalization.

Screened at festivals on 3 continents and nominated for 2 Golden Sheaf Awards, “Interpersonalities” is a psychological thriller that explores the puzzle of Multiple Personality Disorder. The film tells the story of a psychotherapy session between a psychiatrist and his patient. As various personalities enter and leave the scene, we realize there is more at stake, and that what appears to be, may not exist at all. Internationally distributed by Ouat Media, the Canadian broadcast is upcoming on the Moviola network.

Razawa

Winner of the Golden Sheaf for Multicultural prorgram. Thirty-minute documentary on SCN... Razawa escaped a genocide to find a new beginning. "The Kurd people were not with Saddam's regime. 300,000 Kurds died in the genocide. You always lived in fear of death. I think he is the new Hitler of this century." Razawa is a tough story that reveals the horrors of Kurdish genocide but also reveals the power of positivity and humour as a means to overcoming personal tragedy.

Ernesto

Nominated for a Golden Sheaf Award for Short Documentary. EE Burritos is a hot spot for Latin cuisine and culture. The owner of the business is Ernesto Hernandez. Ernesto is a strong advocate for community development. Over the years he has rescued several women from Saskatoon's sex trade by giving them jobs. Today he is helping Johnny, a young man who has spent much of his adult life in jail. Johnny's story of gang violence is a wake-up call for at-risk youth. During an intimate interview, Ernesto reveals his own history of violence: as a child soldier fighting against the government forces in El Salvador's brutal civil war. Ernesto is all about second chances.

The Date

The Date follows the intimate lives of two young professionals who are allegedly preparing to go on a date. Evan, a dissatisfied late 20’s middle manager at the bank ‘stuck’ in his dream of corporate America, and Kate, a liberated 20 something girl. Although living seemingly opposite lives, they are connected by something in common this evening. Through a classic shooting style, the audience witnesses each character’s respective transformation from their mundane life at work to the exciting prospect of meeting someone new. As the characters get ready, we feel the anxiety building and the tension rising…
